About the event
Our St. Louis Province invites you to join them to commemorate Black History Month with a prayer service and light reception.
Prior to the prayer service in the chapel, David Jackson will help set the mood for the afternoon through the sounds of African drumming.
The prayer service will begin with a series of short readings. Listen to the words of Julia Greeley, Sr. Thea Bowman and Fr. Augustus Tolton, famous Catholic civil rights figures, and learn about our sisters’ experience working the mission in Uganda.
A light reception will follow the prayer service in St. Joseph Hall. Registration is required for in-person attendees by January 28.
The prayer service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
Presented by the J.O.E. Educates, a sub-group of the St. Louis Province’s Racial and Cultural Justice Committee.
