MLK Mass & Model of Justice Awards
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Model of Justice Award is an annual presentation for a noble cause. This award is presented to high school students who have demonstrated through their attitude and their work, a commitment to serving humanity in the broader community. These students have made justice a central part of their life and have committed themselves "to the noble struggle for equal rights."

50 Years!
Archdiocesan Mass for the Preservation of Peace and Justice
The St. Charles Lwanga Center began the year by celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Archdiocesan Mass for the Preservation of Peace and Justice during the holiday weekend honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The commemorative Mass was held on January 18 at the New Cathedral and brought together the faithful from across the archdiocese in prayer for justice and peace. High school students from throughout the archdiocese were recognized for their commitment to social justice and the many ways they serve their communities. The Mass was celebrated by Mitchell T. Rozanski, Archbishop of St. Louis, with the homily delivered by Father Art Cavitt. A highlight of the liturgy was the procession of students representing every Catholic high school in the archdiocese, each carrying a banner bearing the name of their school. The celebration concluded with a reception in Boland Hall.
